AcuityMaster Legacy

Windows
How is AcuityMaster Legacy licensed?

Each physical location requires a location license. Each additional workstation at that location requires its own license. Free upgrades were included for 12 months from purchase. Legacy perpetual licenses will be honored through December 31, 2026.

Which Windows versions are supported?

Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11. Requires .NET Framework 4.0 or higher.

What hardware do I need?

If you already have a computer in the exam lane for your EMR, you can typically run AcuityMaster on the same machine. You’ll need:

  • A video card with dual video output
  • A 20–24″ LCD/LED monitor with HDMI (∼$150)
  • For video fixation: a monitor with built-in speakers (audio over HDMI)
Will it work with any monitor?

Yes — but monitor size and patient distance affect which lines display correctly. For most exam lanes a 20–24″ LCD is ideal. Small (15–17″) monitors work fine at standard distances.

Can I use a remote control or foot pedal?

Yes. Any standard Windows wireless keyboard or numeric keypad works. We also supply a USB foot pedal that toggles the pediatric video fixation hands-free. See the Accessories page.

Is there an all-in-one solution?

Yes. A refurbished Dell OptiPlex all-in-one (AIO models 2330, 2320, or 9010) from the Dell Outlet is often under $350. Mount it on the wall directly in front of or behind the patient.

Does AcuityMaster meet visual acuity standards?

Yes. AcuityMaster meets ANSI Z80.21 (luminance 80–320 cd/m²), ISO 8596 (optotype contrast ≤15% of background), and color temperature requirements (2500K–7000K). All current monitors fall within these ranges.

Where can I find keyboard shortcuts?

The complete keyboard shortcuts reference is available as a PDF download on the Help & Manuals page.

When does AcuityMaster Cloud launch?

AcuityMaster Cloud launches July 1, 2026. Register your interest to be notified at launch and receive priority access.

Does AcuityMaster Cloud work on Mac?

Yes — that is one of the main reasons for the Cloud transition. AcuityMaster Cloud runs in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Edge on macOS 12 or later. No installation required.

What browser and OS do I need?
  • Safari 16+, Chrome 110+, Firefox 115+, or Edge 110+
  • macOS 12+ or Windows 10/11
  • Standard broadband internet connection
How is Cloud pricing structured?

Annual subscription, per seat. Pricing ranges from $249/seat/year (1 workstation) to $99/seat/year (50+ workstations). Volume discounts apply automatically. See the full pricing table.

Why move from perpetual to subscription?

Subscription enables Mac compatibility, centralized multi-seat management, automatic updates, and eliminates hardware-locked licenses. Five years of subscription cost is approximately equal to the historical perpetual license price.

Can I use a second monitor for the patient chart?

Yes. AcuityMaster Cloud supports dual-display setups — one screen for the clinician controls, one for the patient-facing chart. You can also run single-display mode from the exam-lane computer.

What happens to my Legacy license?

Existing legacy perpetual licenses remain active through December 31, 2026. Legacy software will no longer be sold after July 1, 2026. Existing customers receive priority access to AcuityMaster Cloud — email [email protected] for migration details.

Does Cloud meet the same clinical standards as Legacy?

Yes. AcuityMaster Cloud meets ANSI Z80.21 and ISO 8596 requirements. Letter sizes are calibrated to the patient distance you set during setup, just as in the Legacy version.
